More Grammar Fail!

Yes, when you use bad grammar, I judge you. I will admit that I’m not perfect and that you will find mistakes in my posts, but I’m not a huge blogger (although I’d love to be) and not in the public eye.

In a video sponsored by Rock The Vote, Mos Def is giving a mock speech of him accepting the presidency. After mentioning reading a book and education, this image is flashed on the screen.

I’ll let you find the error.

Incorrect usage of the your/you’re & there/their/they’re contractions are by far my biggest pet peeve. The text should say “You’re An American.” Your is used for possession, like “Here is your ball.” I don’t know how this got past anyone considering how many people it has to go by before being posted online. From the design team, video creation team, EDITOR, and reviewers, there’s no way this could have popped up – this error especially.

I’ll also go ahead and answer your question – yes, please critique my work as well. :)

They’ve also got an unnecessary comma in a series in their video description. No comma before the “and!”
