Owners of MacBooks and MacBook Pros I think will agree with this next statement: these suckers can get HOT! I’m sure some of you have seen the picture of the PowerBook G4 Titanium cooking an egg. I’m sure this is Photoshopped, but boy does my lap feel for that egg.
One thing to note about the Mac portables is this: it has never been dubbed a “laptop.” In any Apple ad or press release has any of the Mac portables, iBook/PowerBook/MacBook/MacBook Pro, been called a “laptop.” Apple has always been careful and called it a notebook. No where in the word notebook does it say, “I belong on the lap.” So I suppose this is one thing they go back to when getting complaints about the heat issues.
Reader, Olivier, over at Gizmodo – who is quite well with teh Photoshop compared to these people – created some designs of a form-fitting MacBook cooling device. Although the design isn’t as swell as the Zephyr, it does have some cool spots for inputs such as PC card expansion, more USB ports, and even storage for your trusty Apple remote.
The only bummer is that the images are only designs. If someone did make this though, I’d buy it immediately.
More images over at Gizmodo.
